The main points to summarise this week from a Nine perspective are: 

  • The Australian Open dominated prime time viewing across the week. Various sessions of the Australian Open recorded:
    • 6 of the Top 10 programs with People 25-54
    • 8 of the Top 10 programs with People 16-39
    • 5 of the Top 10 programs with Grocery Shopper + Child
    • 4 of the Top 10 programs with Total People
  • Across the network shares (prime time), 9Network won the week with all key demos and Total People, recording the following shares:
    • People 25-54: 51%
    • People 16-39: 57.6%
    • Grocery Shopper + Child: 49.5%
    • Total People: 47.8%
  • Across the primary channel shares (prime time), Channel 9  won the week with all key demos and Total People, recording the following shares:
    • People 25-54: 35.7%
    • People 16-39: 41.5%
    • Grocery Shopper + Child: 37.2%

  • 9News Melbourne launched its new bulletin last week with Alicia Loxley and Tom Steinfort hosting. The bulletin won every weeknight of the week (Monday to Friday). On Wednesday, the winning margin was 54,000 viewers (272,000 to 218,000). By Thursday, that margin had increased to 74,000 viewers (271,000 to 197,000).

The Australian Open continues today, with Australia’s Alex de Minaur taking on Andre Rublev in their fourth round clash from Rod Laver Arena tonight at 7.00pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.
