The Messenger on ABC – Ed (William McKenna) has some serious making-up to do as he realises his investment in the cards has done damage to his relationships with those nearest and dearest.

Christmas provides Ed with the chance to reconnect with his prickly family. Despite being on his best behaviour, tensions soon bubble but this time Ed gains an insight that allows him to see things from a different perspective and a shift occurs between himself and his mum.

The real Christmas occurs back at Ed’s place with his best friends. It’s a night of reconnection that finally brings Audrey (Alexandra Jensen) and Ed back together.

One of Ed’s nearest and dearest dies sending him into a grief spiral. First his dad and now this. Why did the cards make him care, make him feel only to take it all away? Ed begins to unravel. His grasp on reality slips and he starts to wonder if he’s been the one behind the card messages all along.
