Tonight | Shakespeare and Hathaway on ABC TV – The oddly-matched Stratford-upon-Avon-based sleuths return for more picturesque and whimsical mysteries brimming with wit and rural charm.
When American PI, Joe Venice, (Kerry Shale) comes to town, Frank (Mark Benton) and Lu (Jo Joyner) think they’ve made it across the pond.
Accused of local mechanic Andy Stern’s murder, Joe calls upon their help to hunt down a valuable muscle car for a client. On the quest to find the engine Frank and Lu come across some shady individuals including mechanic Portia Dane (Sally Rogers) and driving school instructor Reece Alonso (Terry Mynott).
When Frank finds Jason (Craig Gazey), a known criminal, hanging around the murder site he suspects he’s involved but struggles to get a straight answer without upsetting him.
Meanwhile, Sebastian (Patrick Walshe McBride) goes undercover at a tattoo parlour to find out more about tattooist, Betty Ceres, (Caroline O’Neill) who was injured in an illegal street race years ago.
Can the gang piece together what really happened to Andy, find the car and save their client?
