Secrets of the Female Orgasm on SBS Viceland – Yewande Biala is a biochemist and author with two degrees.
She’s articulate, charismatic and outwardly confident – but she’s missing one big thing in her life. Brought up in a strict Catholic family and attending church, she
struggled with a lot of anxiety and shame about sex. Masturbation was preached to be ‘the dirtiest sin’ and she didn’t even find out that women could have orgasms until she was 19 or 20. She’s never tried to give herself an orgasm or achieved one with a boyfriend.
Now, in Secrets of the Female Orgasm, Biala meets other women, scientists and therapists to hear their stories and opinions.
Trying out various techniques, experimenting with sex toys and visiting a sex club all form part of Biala’s research as she attempts to learn everything there is to know about the complexity of the female orgasm in a bid to experience one herself for the first time.
