Miriam and Alan: Lost in Scotland and Beyond on ABC – In the series finale, we join Miriam, Alan and his dog Lala, back in La La Land – in a world that could only exist in LA: A dog spa and healing centre.
From sound baths to animal reiki, Lala experiences it all – and whilst Alan embraces the weird and wonderful, it all gets a bit barking for Miriam.
Then it’s onward to meet a very special someone from Alan’s past, his former fiancé and actress Saffron Burrows, with whom he lived in the City of Dreams, when they were young and full of dreams. A crazy drive on the highway, and a few near misses later, it’s picnic time as Saffron gets a Margolyes-style grilling on her personal life.
Where else for their last hurrah but Vegas – in what becomes a truly eye-watering weekender. Killing time on the long drive, they debate everything from daytime TV to Britney, before heading to the Vegas Old Town to one of the only surviving, original casinos, El Cortez. Here they meet owner Kenny Epstein, as their night on the tiles starts with a poker game – before Alan pushes the envelope. Blowing Miriam’s mind with a cabaret show to remember, that leaves her, for once, utterly speechless.
