Following a star-studded season, sports fans are in for a treat on the Seven Network, as the competition’s top four teams fight to the finish in this year’s Big Bash League Finals.

In a monster fortnight of cricket on Seven, the first two BBL Finals will kick off after stumps of day three and four of the Australia v West Indies Test at Adelaide Oval, with the remaining two finals to be played prior to the second Test at the Gabba.

Starting with the Qualifier between the Brisbane Heat and Sydney Sixers on Friday, 19 January, the winner of the do-or-die clash will immediately progress to the Final on Wednesday, 24 January, while the losing side will receive a second chance in the Challenger on Monday, 22 January, all live and free in prime time on Seven.

The opponent for the Challenger will be determined on Saturday night, when the Perth Scorchers and Adelaide Strikers meet in a do-or-die clash in the Knockout, from 7.00pm AEDT live and free on Seven.

As all four teams battle it out over six days of fiery BBL action, all roads lead to the all-important Final, broadcast live and free on Seven, on the eve of Australia’s final Test match against the West Indies, Wednesday, 24 January at 7.00pm AEDT.

In a coup for fans, cricket’s most astute commentator and former Australian cricket captain, Ricky Ponting, will call every BBL Final on Seven, leading the coverage alongside Seven’s stellar BBL host and commentary team including Brad Hodge, Alister Nicholson, Mel McLaughlin, Simon Katich, Greg Blewett, Erin Holland, Jason Richardson, Callum Ferguson, Chris Green and Ryan Daniels.

Managing Director Seven Melbourne and Head of Network Sport, Lewis Martin said:

“It’s been an absolutely scorching summer of cricket on Seven, and it’s only getting hotter.

“With the first Test against the West Indies live and free from Adelaide Oval, before the final BBL regular season match tonight, Seven has you covered for all the biggest and best moments on the eve of a fiery week of BBL Finals.

“Then, it really heats up on Friday night with the first of four epic BBL Finals live and free on Seven, all before we return to the game’s traditional format with the final Test between Australia and the West Indies, live from the Gabba. It doesn’t get any bigger than that,” he said.

“Once again, Seven has assembled a stellar commentary and hosting team for the BBL Finals series, led by none other than world-class caller, Ricky Ponting, who will feature in every Final, before returning to Seven’s Test coverage at the Gabba.
